Colitis can be caused by parasitic infection, bacteria or viruses, allergies or food intolerances, reactions to certain medications, excessive stress, and snuff consumption of alcoholic beverages and an unbalanced diet.
Colitis can have symptoms like these:
- Colic
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Blood and pus in stool
- Fever
- Weight Loss
- There are different types such as amoebic colitis (caused by the action of the Amoeba coli and Entamoeba histolytica), the mucosa, polypoid and ulcerative. The latter, perhaps the most painful, because of the presence of bleeding ulcers in the lining of the colon to the anus.
Folk Remedies
- Remedy for colitis # 1: Take two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and two of honey mixed in a glass of water and taken before meals.
- Remedy for colitis # 2 Set linseed or flaxseed soaked in a cup of water the next day, strain the preparation and drinking.
- Remedy for colitis # 3: Boil two pinches of marshmallow root in a cup of water for 5 minutes. After this time, remove from heat, strain and reserve. Drinking a cup daily for two weeks.
- Remedy for colitis # 4: Take a healing juice containing 250 ml of apple juice, 250 ml of carrot juice, cucumber 50 ml, 50 ml of beetroot and 20 ml of mineral water Extract the juice from each fruit and mix. Drinking in the morning and evening for at least three weeks.
- Remedy for colitis # 5: Prepare a tea with lemon juice and boiled water. Mix thoroughly and take hot twice a day fasting and by midmorning.
- Remedy for colitis # 6: Take guava juice with a teaspoon of honey.
- Remedy for colitis # 7: Apply at least 4 packs of hot water with grated onion on your stomach area. Replace when cool.
- Remedy for colitis # 8: Add in a container, a portion of rice for three parts water. Then boil for 12 minutes, strain, let cool and drink a cup several times a day.
- Remedy for colitis # 9: Eat yogurt, since it serves both to prevent and to treat colitis contributing to the rapid recovery of intestinal infections.
- Remedy for colitis # 10: Boil 20 grams of chamomile in 1 liter of water for 15 minutes. Consuming this amount daily and followed for 15 days.
Recommendations
- Eating fruits and vegetables with fiber such as apples, barley, brown rice, carrots, beans, oat bran, which helps move the field along the small intestine without forcing the colon.
- Avoid refined sugars, alcohol, caffeine, yeast, wheat, dairy cow and other foods that may cause allergic reaction or intolerance to lactose.
