Barley is native to western Asia and northeastern Africa and is very similar to wheat. Its seeds have a sweet taste (yellow on the outside and white inside) and their ears are flexible and prolonged.
Its use is very old and has been considered as the grain used to produce the first loaves of humanity, but then was displaced by wheat.

Healing Properties
It has many medicinal properties, among which we mention that combats constipation and helps the digestive process in general. It is also used for respiratory diseases (pneumonia) and is an excellent remedy to relieve impotence and sexual weakness
Its use is indicated for people suffering from fluid retention, as barley, while it's refreshing, it makes you urinate.
Folk Remedies from barley
Popular Remedy: To improve digestion, it must hervir150 grams of barley per liter and a half of water for about ten minutes. When you release the boil, pull the water and add as much alike, let it rest, and adding lemon juice and sugar to taste.

Recipe for a healthy diet with barley
Tortilla barley
The ingredients are: 3 cups cooked barley, 1 cup cooked beans aduki, 4 tablespoons chopped parsley, 1 roasted and peeled red pepper, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon baking soda, sea salt enriched Provence 1 teaspoon olive oil .
It must be mixed barley, aduki, parsley, chopped pepper, Provencal and fortified salt. Then beat the eggs with the baking, the ingredients are mixed and cooked in a pan with olive oil. Accompany with raw salad.
Pate barley
